Grace McCabe Shines as a Miss Scotland Finalist 2024

From Advocacy to Achievement: Grace McCabe’s Remarkable Path to the Miss Scotland 2024 Final

Miss Scotland 2024 finalist

In a remarkable blend of charisma, brains, and benevolence, Grace McCabe, a law student who works with Oracle Law, and advocate for numerous charitable causes, secured a spot in the top 10 of this year’s Miss Scotland 2024 final competition. The modernised event, which shuns traditional pageantry elements such as swimsuits for more holistic challenges, spotlighted Grace’s many contributions to society.

The Miss Scotland competition, often misconceived as a mere beauty pageant, emphasises contestants’ fitness, skincare, and fundraising efforts. Grace, who has been an active spokesperson for Girlguiding Scotland since the age of 15, used this platform to further her advocacy. Her impressive resume includes leading two campaigns, sponsoring motions in the Scottish parliament, and being recognised by the United Nations for initiatives aimed at making public spaces safer for women and girls.

“Being part of Miss Scotland allows me to amplify my advocacy efforts and make a real difference.”

Grace’s charitable efforts extend beyond Girlguiding Scotland. In 2021, she influenced the inclusion of universal free breakfast provisions in party manifestos for the elections, collaborating with Magic Breakfast. She also serves as the lead Volunteer for Speak Out at Girlguiding Scotland, a suicide prevention consultant with Samaritans Scotland, and a member of the advisory collective with the Young Women’s Movement.

Her current endeavours include researching legal solutions to tackle public misogyny, demonstrating her commitment to using her law degree for societal good. Working at Oracle Law has reinforced her dedication, allowing her to treat every client with dignity and respect.

For the competition’s charity challenge, Grace cycled an impressive 114 miles, raising £500 for Girlguiding Scotland. As she gears up for the glamorous final, she highlights that the competition’s new focus is on well-rounded individuals who are ambassadors for their country, capable of addressing global issues, promoting healthy lifestyles, and demonstrating ambition.

Grace’s participation in Miss Scotland has been a journey of fulfilment, recognition, and pride. Regardless of the outcome at the final, she considers it a significant achievement to stand among such high-calibre finalists.
